Sunset as seen from the Wild Rose Trail in North Salt Lake.
The Wild Rose Trail

The Wild Rose Trail in North Salt Lake offers on of the best sunset views in the area, including great views of the Great Salt Lake, Antelope Island and Farmington Bay. This hike is intended to be more of a social event than a hike, with a long stop in the middle to watch the sunset, socialize and enjoy a cold drink if you brought one. After the sun sets, we will begin our return hike.

Our route on the Wild Rose Trail will be approximatly 2 miles total with an elevation gain of 344'. When ice, snow or mud are present on the trail, we will treat this as an out and back hike, at other times we will do this hike as a loop. Occasionally, depending on conditions, we might take some alternative trails along the way may reduce distance, however they may allow us return more quickly if storms start approching.

We will generally meet on the grass in the trailhead park, between the parking lot and the covered pavilion and begin the hike 15 minutes after the posted start time.

Parking

We will be meeing at an actual park in the city of North Salt Lake. If you use a maping application that takes you anywhere else, the most likely place will be a cul de sac just north of the park where we are meeting. If the parking lot is full, there is plenty of street parking in the neighborhood.

Dogs

Well behavied dogs are allowed on our hikes and off leash once out of the park and on the trail. If your dog becomes disruptive, we will ask you to put the dog back on a leash until it calms down or for the remainder of the hike. Please pick up after your dog and make sure you bring plenty of water

Compliance.
Our rules

We love getting outside and helping others! What we don’t like is having to enforce rules, however it sometimes becomes necessary to enforce some. Our rules exist to help set expectations and provide consistency to how we handle situations when they come up. While we suggest familiarizing yourself with our rules, we believe that the overwhelming majority of you will remain well within them even without knowing them, they are generally common sense.

Our rules are primarily divided into 3 groups.
