Our primary focus is getting people together outdoors.
It is our mission to improve lives by bringing people together.
We do this through leading events such as group hikes.
We love getting outside and helping others! What we don’t like is having to enforce rules, however it sometimes becomes necessary to enforce some. Our rules exist to help set expectations and provide consistency to how we handle situations when they come up. While we suggest familiarizing yourself with our rules, we believe that the overwhelming majority of you will remain well within them even without knowing them, they are generally common sense.
Our rules are primarily divided into 3 groups.
Our general expectation is that everyone who joins our group will act appropriately and help create positive experiences for others. This is very important to us. Almost all of this is common sense, but most of the rules exist because of behavior we have encountered over the years. The rules in our code of conduct help use to fairly and consistently handle issues when they occur, but we will always prioritize the safety and wellbeing of others.
Knowing what to expect is important, these activity guidelines have been created to create consistancy in our events. Some of these guidelines are not set in stone, so always read an event description before going. Some of these guidelines are rules to make sure we don't push beyond what is safe. Most of our events are public events where individuals attending will likely have varying amounts of skill and experience, this is a very important consideration when leading group events. If you are looking for something more challanging, come let us get to know you. Once we are familiar with your experience level and capabilities, you may get invited along to more challanging events, almost all of our event leaders also lead prive events that may go beyond the boundaries set by these guidelines.
Want to know what the requirements are to become a leader in our group? Our administrative rules cover that. These rules are being put in place to set in place to govern how we run our group, this will hopefully ensure that our group runs smoothly and consistantly; which will help ensure our success well into the future.
It is our intent to allow our leaders and members discretion to make decisions that are best for them, at the same time we need to make sure that we are not creating an unacceptable amount of risk for other individuals. Click here to find out more.
