Hooker’s Onion

Hooker's onion is common and widespread in Utah. Occuring in the open sagebrush foothills and valleys of Utah, often on rocky sloops. Native American tribes used Hooker's onion as a food source. This species grows from an underground bulb which typically produces 2 to 3 cylindrical leaves which only last a short time, disappearing once flowering.

  • Height:  4" to 12"
  • Elevation: 4,500' to 8,800'
  • Bloom-time: April to June
