Wandering Gartersnake

The wandering gartersnake, Thamnophis elegans vagrans, is a common species throughout Utah. It can be found in most habitats near water, ranging from low desert to high mountains. They have a more varied diet than most snakes, consuming worms, snails, amphibians, fishes, small rodents. Insects, lizards, other snakes, and small birds.

  • Length: 18" to 43"
