Nine Mile Canyon offers perhaps the best collection of ancient rock art to be found anywhere in the world. Most is attributed to the Fremont Culture, but the canyon offers images from a wide variety of cultures representing thousands of years of history. The diversity is astonishing. The photos here are intended to give an example of the variety of images. There are hundreds of panels of artwork.

Nine Mile Canyon is located NE of Price. Drive to the east edge of the town of Wellington and just follow the signs into the canyon. Look for concentrations of figures on panels where cliffs come alongside the road, on the left-hand side as you drive down canyon. Some figures are at road-level, others are one or two levels above the road. Many figures can be seen along the main road both above and below its junction with Argyle Road.

The canyon also shelters many historic artifacts from pioneer ranch operations. Several working ranches can be found in the canyon, along with a large asortment of livestock and wildlife. It's a wonderful outdoor museum.
